WELCOME TO THE BLUE SUNDAE MICROSITE!
A mailing list subscriber-only page with exclusive content & early access to new music
Hello! Thanks so much for subscribing to my mailing list and checking out this microsite for my forthcoming EP ‘Blue Sundae’.
After creating and releasing the very colourful ‘Comfort Food’ EP in June, I wanted to explore more introspective lyrical themes for my next release. I had also been listening to a lot of 90s jazzy hip hop like A Tribe Called Quest and Digable Planets. This led to the concept for ‘Blue Sundae’, which was also inspired by Picasso’s “blue period”, Joni Mitchell’s confessional ‘Blue’ album and classic Blue Note jazz records that were often sampled by 90s hip hop acts. You can see where the ‘blue’ name and colour aesthetic came from!
I’ve tried to use warmth, honesty, jazzy musicality and gentle humour to deal with feelings of loneliness, sadness and loss. It’s my most personal collection of tracks so far.
You can listen to ‘The lost art of making friends’, the first single from ‘Blue Sundae’, in full now. I’ll be sharing more tracks, the artwork, short videos about its influences and more exclusive content in the coming months.
I hope you enjoy the music!

The lost art of making friends
I stopped making friends many years ago
Now I’m losing touch with everyone that I know
I’m too busy, busy, busy with important stuff
It’s continental drift it’s the way of the world yeah
Career, family diving for pearls
Always chasing, chasing, chasing
It’s never enough
I’ve been living out here on Lonely Street
I could come into the city tell me where to meet
Come on let’s do this
Why are friends hard to find?
Let’s be friends
Cos I need a little human connection
Every now and then
Friends getting harder to find
Let’s be friends
Cos I’m craving some platonic affection
I’m just scrolling and liking
It’s no good for my mind
In 15 seconds start the next episode
RPG single player mode
So easy, easy, easy
To distract from the truth
I prefer my own company
Yeah that is a lie
And now I’m starting to see
I go on and on and on
An endless excuse
