Welcome to the world of Messy Eater…

…the new music and illustration project from Pete Bott, whose previous projects have been supported by NME, The Guardian, Notion and BBC Radio 1.

Since launching in late 2024, Messy Eater has emerged as “one of the most creative alternative pop acts currently operating in the UK” (Plastic Mag). In only 18 months, he has played a standout debut live session for BBC Introducing, a sold out Sofar Sounds show and on the main stage at the historic York Theatre Royal as one of 10 “Breakthrough Artists” at the Aesthetica Festival. Receiving editorial support from Apple Music (7 tracks playlisted), Messy Eater has been championed by Amazing Radio (Jim Gellatly, Tom Robinson and Shell Jenner) and BBC Introducing (Jericho Keys), as well numerous press tastemakers, for his debut EP Starters, follow up EP Southern Fried and new Comfort Food EP.

Drawing comparisons with Gorillaz, Beck, The Avalanches, Beastie Boys and The Flaming Lips, Messy Eater combines relatable lyrical observations on modern life with irresistible hooks and a unique self-produced sound to create vibrant, relatable and life-affirming music.
